A double-sided palette, it also tells the story of the King, which is itself a common feature in Egyptian art and design. The front of the palette includes the King’s name rendered in hieroglyphs, flanked by two bull or cow heads that possibly symbolize the goddess Hathor. Below this line of “text” are three additional layers, the first of which demonstrates clearly the extent of the king’s power and dominion over the land and people.
